Places and local time
World time and elapsed-time planner
Compare an interval across named time zones, resolve repeated clock times and export one UTC calendar event using pinned IANA rules.
Find a city, town or village
Choose an area and region, then search the beginning of a place’s native or ASCII name. You can also enter coordinates and a time zone directly.
Loading the dated location catalog…
Use 1–80 characters. Names are from the source snapshot; an omitted place can still be calculated with explicit coordinates.
Location facts: GeoNames, CC BY 4.0. The catalog includes source-listed populated places without a population cutoff. It cannot guarantee that every settlement is present or current. Coordinates, administrative labels and time zones can contain source errors; review the selected values.
Compare a time interval
Enter the local start and end, including their time zones. The result compares actual instants, so elapsed time can differ from the number of hours on a wall clock.
The title stays in this browser and in your downloaded file.
Rules: IANA 2026e, local dates 2020–2035. Future political decisions can change these rules. Calendar export uses absolute UTC times; the importing calendar controls its own local display. This planner does not create recurring events or send invitations. Maximum interval: 366 elapsed days.
Sources and coverage
The area selector contains 249 ISO country and territory codes and the supplemental GeoNames code XK. Catalog codes do not imply sovereignty or an official local timetable. Some areas have no source-listed populated place, and a place record does not verify a local legal or religious rule.
Source-listed place records come from a dated GeoNames extract. The loaded catalog displays its date and record count. Native and ASCII names are searchable; alternate historical spellings are not a complete search index. You can correct coordinates or select a different time zone explicitly.

CSV text cells beginning with spreadsheet formula characters receive a leading apostrophe for spreadsheet safety. Downloaded files are generated from the displayed result. Changing a calculation input invalidates its exports until you calculate again.
